CARMACK, WALTER C.

Walter Cornelius Carmack, 86, of Bristol, Tenn., and formerly of Roanoke, died in a Bristol extended care facility following an illness of several months. He is survived by his wife, Rena Copenhaver Carmack; a daughter and son-in-law, Pat and William Vipperman; stepdaughter, Betty McNeil; stepson and daughter-in-law, Robert and Mimi Copenhaver; grandchildren: William Vipperman Jr., Andrew Vipperman, Vincent and Sheila Copenhaver, Thomas Copenhaver, Christopher and Ellen Copenhaver, Sarah Copenhaver, Michael Young, Virginia Young, Bryan Young; and great-granddaughter, Victoria Copenhaver. "Mack" Carmack was a corporate officer with a Roanoke based motor freight company. He was active in both the First Presbyterian Church of Roanoke, and later the First Presbyterian Church of Bristol. A graveside committal, read by Dr. Robert Copenhaver, will take place at 1:00 p.m., Sherwood Memorial Park, Salem, Friday, January 3. A memorial service will be held later in Bristol.
