LONGWOOD INFIELDER MAKES ALL-AMERICA TEAM

Longwood's Michael Tucker was selected Thursday to the Baseball America preseason All-America team as a second baseman.

The junior from Chase City, Va., batted .450 with 15 home runs and 59 runs batted in as a shortstop for the Lancers last season.

The All-America selections were made by Baseball America after consulting with major-league scouting directors. Tucker was the only non-Division I player named to the preseason team.
