BB GUNSHOT SHATTERS SCHOOL BUS WINDOW
A BB gun was believed to be the cause of a shattered window in a Roanoke school bus Thursday afternoon, police said.Sgt. David Viar said no one was injured when the window in the rear emergency exit shattered as the bus left Grandin Court Elementary School around 3:40 p.m.
The window broke, but its pieces stayed put within the window frame, Viar said.
About 20 children were on the bus when the incident occurred near Spessard Avenue and Spring Road.
None of the pupils saw a weapon being fired, but investigators "found evidence of a BB gun," Viar said.
The shooting was believed to have occurred outside the bus, he said. No arrests were made Thursday.
