PEOPLE OF NARROWS PROUD OF COMMUNITY

PEOPLE in Narrows are proud of our community, and we resent such sarcastic remarks as Ed Shamy's about our much-needed and useful sewage plant.

Mr. Shamy is really hurting for something to write about when he goes for the scum pit. Narrows has a lovely park that serves as many people from West Virginia as Virginia. The PIN group has done many things for the beautification of Narrows. Memorial Boulevard is getting a new face lift.

Why didn't Mr. Shamy mention any of those things? We are a small town, but everyone pulls together when a project gets under way. I do hope Mr. Shamy will attend the open house down at the sewage plant, along with the other tourists. It would be a shame if he were the one sucked into the vat; then he would learn first-hand all about the scum pit. SALLIE GROGAN NARROWS
