TOYOTA, COLLEGE PLAN JOINT TRAINING PROGRAM

A recent agreement between New River Community College and Toyota makes the college an official member of the Toyota Technical Education Network, often called T-Ten.

Under the arrangement, the college will receive assistance from Toyota in training automotive technicians. Students who successfully complete the program will then be certified to service Toyota automobiles. The program will emphasize high-tech training using the latest in automotive technology.

Helen Harvey, the college's technologies division chairwoman, said the program probably will start in the fall of 1992.
