TURNER, LAURA H.A memorial service will be offered for Laura Hartsook Turner at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, January 12, 1992 at Christs Episcopal Church, Washington Street, in Alexandria, Va. Mrs. Turner who was born in 1903 died from complications after a stroke on December 21, 1991 in Arlington, Va. A native of Roanoke, Va. Mrs. Turner attended boarding school in Salem, Va. She was the daughter of Thomas E. Benton Hartsook, who was one of the first business developers in Roanoke. In 1925 Laura Hartsook married Lewis Baws Turner in her Mill Mountain home. After living in N.C., Va., and the District of Columbia, they settled in Oakcrest, Arlington, Va. in 1939. Mr. Turner died in 1985. Mrs. Turner was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist in Alexandria. She worked in the Christian Science Reading Room and acted as an usher. She is survived by two daughters; Elizabeth C. Friedrich of Winfield, Ill. and Laura M. Stone of Baltimore, Md., five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
