FARMER, PHEBE E.

Mrs. Phebe Ellie Farmer, age 95, passed away in Waddell Nursing Home Friday. She was born in Carroll Co. March 29, 1896 the daughter of Marion Shockley and Sarah Coulson. She was preceded in death by her husband Haskell Farmer. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church since Aug. 6, 1927. She is survived by one son, Arthur Farmer, Hillsville; two daughters, Mrs. Nina Alderman, Hillsville; Mrs. Etheleen Melton, Woodlawn; her sister, Mrs. Gracie Harmon, Wytheville; sixteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Sunday 1:30 p.m. at the Vaughan-Gwynn McGrady Chapel in Hillsville with Elder Joe H. McGrady and Elder Leonard Marshall officiating with interment to follow in the John E. Farmer cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Vaughan-Gwynn McGrady Chapel.
