BANK TELLER CHARGED WITH EMBEZZLEMENT
A teller for Salem Bank and Trust was charged Friday with embezzlement from the bank's Oak Grove branch.Loretta Ann Coleman, 29, was arrested after an investigation by the Roanoke County Police Department.
Police declined to say how much was taken during the embezzlement, which they said spanned the past six months. But Sonny Tarpley, vice president of the bank, said the amount was less than $2,000.
Coleman, who was released on bond Friday, is no longer employed at the bank, Tarpley said.
