HOWELL, EVA J.

Eva Johnson Howell, age 87 of Gretna died Friday, January 3, 1992. Born August 23, 1904, in Bedford County, she was the daughter of the late Drewry and Alpine Wilson Johnson. She was a member of Summersett Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Pierce T. (Jake) Howell of the residence; two sons, Ottis Howell of Altavista; and Duval Howell of Gretna; two daughters, Mallie Hines of Madison Heights; and Priscilla Cundiff of Gretna; one brother, T. L. Johnson and one sister, Ethel Johnson, both of Bedford; fourteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Summersett Baptist Church by the Rev. Bert Johnson and the Rev. John Belderes. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
