DOMINION PLANS SALE OF ITS CORPORATE JET
Dominion Bankshares executives flew a corporate jet on bank acquisition trips to Washington, Nashville and beyond in the growth era of the 1980s.Apparently those days are over: the company plane is for sale.
The jet was beneficial when the Roanoke-based banking company was expanding in the last decade, Dominion spokeswoman Brenda McDaniel said Friday. It also was helpful in getting the company's directors to town for board meetings.
The plane has been advertised for sale because the company "continues to look for ways to cut non-essential expenses," she said. Citing "security reasons," McDaniel declined to describe the plane. - Staff report
