OBIT AUSTIN, V.

AUSTIN, VIOLET H. Violet H. (Polly) Austin, age 70 of Roanoke, died in a Roanoke Hospital Friday evening. She served as a 2nd Lt. in the Army Nurse Corp during World War II, worked as a Registered Nurse in the Roanoke area until she retired. Surviving are her niece and husband, Sherry and C. Jack Stanley, with whom she made her home in Roanoke; great-niece, Tammie Stanley, great-nephew, Chuck Stanley, brother, E. I. Austin, and a number of other nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at Oakey's South Chapel 9:00 a.m. Monday by Dr. Douglas F. C. Keffer. Burial will follow in Zion Hill Cemetery, Botetourt County. Friends may call at Oakey's South Chapel.
