2ND-QUARTER SURGE TAKES SALEM TO WIN

Salem dominated the second quarter and went on to defeat North Cross 71-58 in a non-district boys' basketball game Saturday night at North Cross.

The Spartans (2-0) outscored North Cross 26-3 in the second quarter. Led by Tra Wilson, who had 13 points for the game, Salem scored the first 24 points of the quarter.

Josh Pugh scored a game-high 21 for Salem, and Corey Epperly added 14 points. - Staff report
