58-POINT 2ND HALF LIFTS LEE OVER BOTETOURT

R.E. Lee scored 58 second-half points to pull away from a halftime tie and drill Lord Botetourt 86-64 in a non-district boys' basketball game Saturday night.

After a 28-28 tie at halftime, Lee took a seven-point lead into the fourth quarter. Lord Botetourt trimmed the lead to 55-50 early in the fourth, but Lee answered with a 14-2 run and went on to outscore the Cavaliers 31-16 in the quarter.

Frankie Johnson had a game-high 35 points for Lee, and Kevin Garber and Nakia Gray added 20 each.

Derek Loyd led Botetourt with 19 points and Bobby Prince finished with 18.
