ROBINSON, FRED W.

Fred Wayne Robinson, age 48, of 714 Queen Avenue, N.W., died Sunday, January 5, 1992, in the line of duty. He was a Roanoke City Police Officer for 21 years where he was a patrolman and firearms instructor. He was an Army veteran and a member of the Locust Grove United Methodist Church in Salem. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred D. Robinson. Surviving are his mother, Mary Katherleen Robinson, Roanoke; brother and sister-in-law, George B. and Sue Robinson, Roanoke; son, Aaron Robinson, Salem; former wife and best friend, Deborah B. Robinson, Salem. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be at the Shenandoah Baptist Church 1:00 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Robert L. Alderman officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
