McNICHOLS, JAY

GLADE SPRING - Jay McNichols, age 84, died Saturday, January 4, 1992, in the Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Prince (Marjorie) Coleman, Glade Spring; Mrs. Gardner (Opal) Smith, Salem; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one niece, Maybelle Miller, Washington D.C.; two sisters-in-law, Elevena Johnson, Oakie Stuart, both of Glade Spring; two brothers-in-law, Elmer Johnson, Perkins Stuart, both of Glade Spring. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Plum Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Jasper Burrell and the Rev. Mark Carty officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Rose Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church. Friends may call at the Williams Funeral Home, Chilhowie, after 2:00 p.m. Monday. The family will receive friends at Mr. McNichols' residence, 104 Hillcrest Drive, at any time.
