UVA WOMEN DROP AUBURN

Tammi Reiss scored 26 points, 10 in a key second-half surge, as top-ranked Virginia remained unbeaten with a 77-70 women's basketball victory Sunday over No. 18 Auburn.

It was the closest game of the season for Virginia (11-0), which came in with a 33.1-point average victory margin.

Auburn (8-4) trailed 38-36 at halftime and Terryland Robinson opened the second half by converting a three-point play to give the Lady Tigers their last lead, 39-38.
