William Pierce Rogers, former secretary of state and attorney general, has agreed to chair the United States Olympic Committee's newly formed Ethics Oversight Committee, USOC president William Hybl said. Also selected to the committee were retired Admiral William James Crowe Jr., chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from 1983-85, and Col. Malham Wakin, national chairman of the Joint Military Services Conference on Professional Ethics and associate dean of the faculty at the United States Air Force Academy.
The Ethics Oversight Committee was established after conflict-of-interest charges led to the resignation of former USOC president Robert Helmick and the censuring of USOC executive director Harvey Schiller.
