SWINNEY, ALICE D.Alice Dudley Swinney, age 82, of 139 Clinton Avenue, died Saturday, January 4, 1992 at the Hospital of Saint Raphael's after a long illness. She was the widow of Thomas Leslie Swinney. Mrs. Swinney, a daughter of the late Harvey C. Dudley, Sr. and the late Pearl Haley Dudley was born in Christiansburg, Va. on August 9, 1909. A resident of New Haven for most of her life, she was a member of the First Congregational Church of Fair Haven. She was predeceased by two brothers, Harry C. Dudley, Jr. and Charles Dudley. She leaves a daughter, Hilda Bartiroma with whom she had resided; three sisters, Thelma Swinney, Glade Hill, Va.; Vera Wrenn and Helen Durham, both of Christiansburg, Va.; two brothers, E. C. Dudley, Salem Va.; and Melvin Dudley, Christiansburg, Va.; two grandsons and two great-grandchildren. A service will be held Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. in the First Congregational Church in Fair Haven. Burial will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park, Hamden. The North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, North Haven is in care of the arrangements.
