EATON, JAMES W.

Mr. James Walter (Dick) Eaton, age 69, died Monday morning, January 6, 1992 at his home. Mr. Eaton was born on November 15, 1922 in Staffordsville and was a son of the late John Shepperd and Mae Johnston Eaton. Mr. Eaton was also preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Lou Hunt, Fauna Mae "Tootie" Fuller. Mr. Eaton was a Navy veteran of World War II, retired from the L.E. Myers Co. and the Ocean Electric Co., a member of the Ruritan Club, and was a 4-H leader. He is survived by his wife, Hazel Earnest Eaton, Pearisburg; four daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Sue and Carl Casteel, Volant, Pa.; Brenda Mae and Wayne Carlson, Waltham, Mass.; Janet Leigh and Clinton Gregory, Dublin; Diane Lynn and Barry Price, Pearisburg; eight brothers, Kenneth Eaton, Winston-Salem, N.C.; Tom Eaton, Germantown, N.C.; Wess Eaton, Pete Eaton, Don Eaton, and Jimmy Eaton, all of Pearisburg; Doug Eaton, Ripplemead; Burkey Eaton, Keymark, Md.; three sisters, Mary Martin, Kernersville, N.C.; Elizabeth Powel, Stanleyville, N.C.; Ann Fletcher, Wheaton, Md.; six grandchildren. Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, Janaury 8, 1992 at 11:00 a.m. at the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg with the Rev. Margaret Wood Johnston officiating. The family will receive friends at the Givens Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Eaton's Chapel Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Jack Price, Rt. 2 Box 340, Pearisburg, Va. 24134.
