McDANIEL, JASPER W.L.Jasper (Mac) W.L. McDaniel, age 82, of 4811 Eden Drive, N.W., died Monday in a local hospital. He was retired General Chairman of AFL-CIO, Chapter No. 813, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Mr. McDaniel was a member of Thrasher Memorial United Methodist Church and for many years, was a member of Belmont United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bertha Boyd McDaniel, and a son, Robert Thomas McDaniel. Surviving are his wife, Dixie Lorene McDaniel; seven children, William B. McDaniel, Niceville, Fla.; Barbara M. Johnston, Hudson, N.C.; Donald L. McDaniel, Roanoke; Teresa Lynne Mutter, Winston-Salem, N.C.; William Allen McDaniel, Crestview, Fla.; Junior L. McDaniel, Welcome, N.C.; twelve grandchildren; one brother, Roy McDaniel, Archdale, N.C.; five sisters, Beatrice Vandergrift, Thelma Hoback, both of Salem; Ruth Showalter, Roanoke; Ruby Phlegar, Salem; Sara Frances Douthat, Roanoke. Services will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Oakey's North Chapel with the Rev. Charles R. Doyle officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Oakey's North Chapel.
