SNEAD, LAWRENCE R., JR.

Lawrence Rucker Snead, Jr., age 58, died Tuesday, January 7, 1992 in the Bedford County Memorial Hospital. He was born in Bedford County on February 4, 1933, a son of the late Elvira Pugh Snead, Bedford; and the late Lawrence R. Snead, Sr. He was a member of Bedford Presbyterian Church, a former Administrator of Southside Community Hospital in Farmville, Associate Administrator of the Medical College of South Carolina in Charleston, and Administrator of Lynchburg General Hospital. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Marilyn Motley Snead; four sons, Rucker Snead, Boone, N.C.; Billy Snead, Charleston, S.C.; Mac Snead, Roanoke; David Snead, Richmond; one daughter, Lynne Snead, Charleston, S.C.; a sister-in-law, Margaret Witt, Bedford; also four grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be conducted at the Bedford Presbyterian Church on Thursday, January 9, 1992 at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Richard N. Boyce and Rev. Francis B. Avery officiating. The family will receive friends at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Home on Wednesday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either the Bedford Life Saving Crew, Bedford Presbyterian Church, or the Bedford Christian Ministries.
