SIMMONS, WALLACE S.

Wallace S. Simmons, age 77 of Fleming Ave., N.E., formerly of Blue Ridge, died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was a member of Jeters Chapel Church of the Brethren, was a former employee of Roanoke Mills and was predeceased by his wife, Beatrice Williamson Simmons. Surviving are two daughters, Helen Simmons Ertman, Roanoke; Mary Lee Stefi, Richmond; two sons, Richard Allen Simmons, Richmond; Laury Wallace Simmons, Roanoke; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one nephew, Danny L. Simmons, Roanoke. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Jeters Chapel Church of the Bretheren for Mission work. Services will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday at Oakey's Vinton Chapel with the Rev. Glen Sage officiating. Interment will follow in Glade Creek Cemetery. Friends may call at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
