BURKS, ROSE B.Rose Beverley Bear Burks, age 80, died in a local hospital January 7, 1992. She was the widow of Martin P. Burks and the daughter of the late James Adam Bear and Elise Sheppard Bear. She was a graduate of Sweetbriar College and a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. She is survived by three daughters, Elise B. Roberts, Bethesda, Md.; Rose Beverley B. Emery, Lexington; Laura B. Logan, Daleville; one brother, James Adam Bear, Ivy, Va. Another daughter, Margaret P. Burks predeceased her. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Albin B. Hammond, III, Charlottesville; Martin B. Hammond, Vinton; E. Murray Hammond, Seattle, Wash.; Anna Clayton Logan, Beverley H. Logan, and Joseph Dandridge Logan, IV, all of Daleville; DeWolf Emery, Lexington; and by a stepgrandchild, Converse Roberts, Bethesda, Md. The funeral will be Thursday 10:00 a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church with the Rt. Rev. William H. Marmion officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Burial Park, Roanoke.
