UVA'S STALEY IN LINE FOR HONOR

University of Virginia senior guard Dawn Staley will be in Anaheim, Calif., for the Honda-Broderick Cup Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year banquet on Thursday.

Staley, the 1990-91 women's college basketball player of the year, was selected the Honda Basketball Sports Award winner after last season, which automatically nominated her for the Honda-Broderick Cup prize.

Staley leads the Cavaliers in assists (5.5 per game) and steals (4.4) this season. She is averaging 15.3 points and 5.7 rebounds. - Staff report
