WILLIAMS, LETA P.

Leta Pearl Williams, 83, died Tuesday morning in a Rich Creek nursing home. Born in Berton, on February 14, 1908, she was the daughter of the late William Alexander and Margaret Sue Wallace Williams. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Minor Williams. She was a member of the Eggleston United Methodist Church. Surviving are one brother, Alvin Williams, Pearisburg; two sisters, Goodwill Stafford, Trigg, Va.; and Ola Williams, Bristol, Tenn.; one nephew, Jerry Williams, Warrenton, Va. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel, Pembroke, with the Rev. Larry Patton and the Rev. Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will be in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Eggleston United Methodist Church or your favorite charity.
