SUPERVISORS PICK NEW CHAIRMAN
Tony Ware, elected this week as chairman of the Bedford County Board of Supervisors, wants to meet more frequently with the Bedford City Council and wants to consider refinancing the county's debt.Ware, a 12-year veteran of the Board of Supervisors, was vice chairman last year.
No other supervisors were nominated for the job, and Ware was unanimously elected for the one-year term. He replaced A.A. "Gus" Saarnijoki, who was chairman for two years. Supervisor James Teass was elected vice
chairman for 1992.
After being elected chairman at a special meeting Tuesday night, Ware suggested that the county send a letter to Bedford Mayor Mike Shelton requestingquarterly meetings with Shelton's board.
