FARMER, ROBERT E., SR.

Mr. Robert Everett Farmer, Sr., age 60, died Monday night, January 6, 1992, at his home following a long illness. Mr. Farmer was born on May 28, 1931, in Pearisburg, Va. Mr. Farmer was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Clinton Everett Farmer of Keystone, W.Va.; a sister, Virginia Blankenship of Eggleston, Va. Mr. Farmer was a member of the Pearisburg Baptist Church and a respected teacher at Giles High and Vocational schools for 20 years and retired in 1983. He served in the United States Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Eggleston Masonic Lodge #309 and Kazim Temple. He is survived by his beloved and loyal wife, Nancy Pashion Farmer of Pearisburg, Va.; his mother, Elsie Caldwell Farmer of Keystone, W.Va.; son, Robert E. Farmer, Jr. of Blacksburg; son and daughter-in-law, Brett and Sharon Farmer of Eggleston, Va.; son and daughter-in-law, Barry and Diane Farmer of Pearisburg, Va.; daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Allen Roseberry of Dublin, Va.; daughter and son-in-law, Babette and Jackie Martin of Pearisburg, Va.; four grandchildren; Nathan and Nikki Roseberry, Brandon and Justin Farmer; two brothers, James C. Farmer of Salem; Samuel Farmer of Keystone, W.Va.; one sister, Irene Dowell of Keystone, Va.; and many loyal friends. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, January 9, 1992, at 3:00 p.m. at the Pearisburg Baptist Church in Pearisburg, Va., with Dr. Robert Putt officiating, with burial following in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg, Va. The family will receive friends at the Givens Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday evening. Memorial donations may be made to the Pearisburg Baptist Church Memorial Fund.
