STARKEY, WILLIAM H.William Henry Starkey, age 82, of Salem, died Tuesday in a Salem hospital. He was a former School Board Member; he was a Trustee of Catawba United Methodist Church; he was a Charter Member of the Catawba Fire Department; he was a Charter Member of the Ruritan Club; he was a Committee Member of the A.S.C.S.; he was a Director of the Boy Scout Trout #256. He is survived by his wife, Wanetta Deeds Starkey; two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry G. and Nancy T. Starkey, Troutville; John W. and Brenda A. Starkey, Catawba; one daughter and son-in-law, Mrs. Patricia S. and Robert Whitley, Santo, Texas; one brother, Earl Starkey, Roanoke; one sister, Miss Virginia Starkey, Alexandria; four grandchildren, Kurt Bright, Annette Bright, T. J. Starkey and Jonathon Starkey. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 10, 1992, 10:00 a.m. at the Lotz Salem Chapel with Rev. Eddy Barnett and Rev. Joe Walters officiating. Interment will be in East Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Catawba United Methodist Church Building Fund or to the Boy Scout Trout #256. Friends may call at Lotz Salem Chapel.
