GROGG, ROBERT J.

Mr. Robert J. Grogg, age 80, died Tuesday, January 7, 1992, in Smyth County Community Hospital. Mr. Grogg was a retired contractor and an active member of Stone Memorial Presbyterian Church for sixty years and having served as elder for over forty years. He served in many capacities at the church and was a Sunday School teacher at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Hazel Arnold Grogg of Atkins, Va.; one brother, Sam Grogg of Johnson City, Tennessee; two sisters, Mrs. Thelma Heick of Wellesley, Massachusetts; and Mrs. Ruby Flick Brown of Bristol, Virginia; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 10, 1992, at 2:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with the Rev. Bryan Childress, the Rev. Michael Weller and Dr. Loren Dow officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Martin, Bill Hanshew, Donald Arnold, R. G. "Butch" Arnold, Sam Grogg, Jr. and Roy Houck. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
