ACTING RADFORD REGISTRAR NAMED

Mary Alice Covey has been appointed acting registrar for the city of Radford.

Covey was assistant registrar to Morris Lepchitz, who died last month. Lepchitz had been the city's registrar since 1966.

A new registrar will be appointed at the Electoral Board meeting the first week of February. The date has not been set, said John Hubble, the chairman.

Covey has said she is not interested in applying for the post, according to Hubble.

Applications are available at the city manager's office, Hubble said.
