SINGLETON, LUCILE P.Lucile P. Singleton of Roanoke, died January 8, 1992. Miss Singleton was born on October 16, 1893 in Union Springs, Ala. and was a graduate of Wesleyan College, Macon, Ga. She spent her professional career with CBS Radio Network in New York City serving as manager of the nation's first radio library and the audition department for Columbia Studios. Surviving Miss Singleton are her nephews, George Lightfoot Singleton, Birmingham, Ala.; Alexander Edward Singleton, IV, McLean, Va.; one niece, Melinda Singleton Robinson, Kemsing, Kent, England. Also surviving are three great-nieces, Sara Brooks, Susanna Gillis, and Rebecca Powell Singleton of Birmingham and two great-nephews, David and Charles Singleton Robinson of England. Burial will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery, Union Springs, Ala. Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Union Springs, Ala. or to the Lions Club of your choice. Arrangements are being handled by Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
