SLAYTON, C. BUFORD

ROCKY MOUNT - Mr. C. Buford Slayton, age 79 of Route 5, died Thursday, January 9, 1992, in Franklin Memorial Hospital. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by his parents, James M. and Josie H. Slayton, and a brother, W. W. Slayton. Surviving are three sisters, Viola S. Brubaker, Bessie S. Robertson, and Eula S. Robertson, all of Rocky Mount; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Joe (Thelma) Hege, Greensboro, N. C.; a devoted niece and her husband, Nadine R. and James G. DeHart; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church by the Rev. William F. Atwell, Sr., the Rev. David Greenawalt and the Rev. Gerald Crouse. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call at Lynch Funeral Home after 3:00 p.m. Friday where the family will be from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and other times at the residence of James G. DeHart.
