\ WHAT'S NEW? WVRU has "Lakutshon Ilanga: Music Is a Healer" beginning Tuesday at 8 p.m. The 13 segments in this series feature South African music and uses local people as guides to the various aspects of African music.
WKEX runs a silver anniversary special Sunday, 3-4 p.m., on The Gathers.
\ NEWS: WVRU's public information program, "Talk of the Town," airs Wednesday at 8 p.m. and Friday at 1:30 p.m. This week's program includes an interview with Buddy Johnston, director of the financial aid department at Radford University, who will discuss the university's upcoming Financial Aid Awareness Night.
"Speakers Corner" airs on WVRU Monday at 1 p.m. with anchorman Roger Mudd, who this week interviews Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens on the court's proper role when it comes to defining the meaning and intent of the Bill of Rights.
