WALLENBORN, ELIZABETH M.

Elizabeth McKenzie Wallenborn, 96 of Charlottesville, died Friday, January 10, 1992 in a local hospital. She was born November 13, 1895 in Salisbury, North Carolina, daughter of the late Alice Caldwell and Dr. William White McKenzie. Mrs. Wallenborn was educated at Fassifern, Lincolnton, N.C., St. Mary's Junior College, Raleigh, N.C. and Gunston Hall, Washington, D.C. She married the late Peter Ambrose Wallenborn on May 13, 1916 in Salisbury, N.C. The family moved to Reidsville, N.C. in 1936 and to Charlottesville, Va. in 1939. She was former Regent of the Jack Jouett Chapter, NSDAR and had been active in various other women's organizations. She was a member of St. Paul Memorial Episcopal Church. Surviving are a daughter, Dr. Alice Lorraine Wallenborn, Charlottesville; three sons, Peter Ambrose Wallenborn, Jr., Roanoke; Dr. White McKenzie (Ken) Wallenborn, Charlottesville; Roberdeau Wheat Wallenborn, Moneta; a brother, White McKenzie, Ottawa, Ill.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 13 in Monticello Memory Gardens by the Rev. David Poist. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hill and Wood Funeral Home. Memorial donations are requested to the Charlottesville-Albemarle Rescue Squad, P.O.
