BECKETT, JAMES R.

James Robert Beckett, age 89, died Thursday, January 9, 1992, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. Mr. Beckett was born in England on December 20, 1902. He was a retired employee of VA Tech, and was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Lillian Beckett. Surviving are two sons, Maurice Beckett, Blacksburg; Les A. Beckett, Denver, Colorado; four grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 12, at Blacksburg First Wesleyan Church. The Rev. Raymond B. Powers will officiate. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home.
