LEE COUNTY MAN MAKES BID TO RUN FOR CONGRESS
Jasper Riddle, a radio preacher from Dryden in Lee County, said Friday that he is a candidate for the Republican nomination for the Ninth District congressional seat.Riddle, 55, is a disabled Air Force veteran who said he hasn't been active recently in party politics.
"It's my calling to be president of the United States," Riddle said when asked why he was running for Congress. "It's been on my mind for a long time."
The candidate said he holds a doctor of divinity degree from Kings Way Bible College of Des Moines, Iowa.
Riddle isn't pastor of a church, but he has a weekly radio show on radio station WDUF in Scott County.
