GLENVAR REMAINS UNBEATEN
Glenvar shot 53 percent (27-of-51) and remained undefeated this season with a 74-58 Pioneer District boys' basketball victory over Bath County on Friday night.The Highlanders (6-0 overall, 6-0 Pioneer) built a 15-point halftime lead, and the closest the Chargers (6-3, 6-2) got in the second half was 66-56 with 1:30 remaining.
Glenvar used its height advantage and a balanced attack on offense. Jason Woolwine scored 14 points, Matt Woolwine 12, Steve Ashworth 12 and Scott Highberger 12 for the Highlanders. \

LYNCHBURG - Vernon Patterson surprised the Raiders with 35 points as the Gaels (9-7, 5-1) rolled to the Virginia Independent Conference victory.
North Cross (4-7, 1-2) had only Marcus Cardwell in double figures with 10 points. Six-foot-6 Mike Bryan, who transfered from Cave Spring where he had been a reserve until Monday, made his debut with four points. \
