SEDALIA CENTER PLANS WINTER PROGRAMS

The Sedalia Center in Big Island is accepting registration for its winter programs.

The schedule includes courses in yoga, tai chi, low-calorie Cajun cooking, playwriting, mixed media art for children, handspinning, acting for teens, watercolors, instrument construction, astronomy, instrumental workshops and playing the bowed psaltery, mountain dulcimer, guitar, autoharp, bass and harmonica.

In addition, the center will hold lectures and workshops on topics such as how Native Americans lived with nature, improving the environment and downshifting - slowing down to enjoy life.

Each month, the center also will hold a flea market and a coffeehouse. The coffeehouse features different entertainers each month.

For more information, call the center at (804) 299-5080.
