OBIT MCGUIRE, E.
McGUIRE, EDNA M. Edna Mae McGuire, age 66, died Thursday evening in a
Roanoke hospital. Born at Mountain Lake in Giles County, Va. on August 21,
1925. She was the daughter of the late Lottie Maude Williams, she was a
retired production worker from Pulaski Furniture Company and a member of the
Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, Pearisburg. She was preceded in death
by her stepfather, Elbert Dowdy and a son, Buford Steve Fuller. Surviving are
her husband, John B. McGuire; a daughter and son-in-law, Jacqueline and James
D. Clark, Trigg, Va.; a sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Clarence Palmer,
Pearisburg; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three stepsons,
Sherwood McGuire, Pearisburg; James B. McGuire, Peterstown; Albert Lynwood
McGuire, Dunlap, Tenn.; one stepdaughter, Mary Patricia Watkins, St.
Augustine, Fla.; two stepbrothers, Daniel Dowdy, Pearisburg; Billy Dowdy,
Boston, Mass.; two stepsisters, Glenna Sartin, Eggleston; Thelma Scott,
Cambridge, Ohio. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 p.m. in the
Kendall Funeral Chapel, Pembroke with the Rev. Margaret Wood Johnston and
Bishop Ted Johnston officiating. Burial will be in Birchlawn Burial Park,
Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to
9:00 p.m. Sunday.
