FERRUM ENDS LOSING STREAK

Everett Foxx scored 25 points and Ferrum ended a three-game losing streak Saturday with a 95-71 rout of Newport News Apprentice in men's basketball.

Ferrum (9-3) had little trouble with the Shipbuilders (1-11). The Panthers led 40-30 at halftime and ran away in the second half.

Mike Robertson added 18 points and a game-high 15 rebounds for Ferrum, which outrebounded Newport News Apprentice 50-33.

Point guard Quincy Quick chipped in 14 points and five assists for Ferrum.

Foxx hit five 3-pointers and contributed five rebounds, two assists, three blocks and a steal. \
