INDIANS TRIP SPARTANS IN NON-DISTRICT GAME
Blacksburg outscored Salem 20-5 in the third quarter and held on for a 61-57 non-district boys' basketball victory Saturday night.Salem (3-2) led 32-26 at halftime, but the Indians (6-3) went on top by 13 in the fourth quarter.
The Spartans tied the score at 57 with 12 seconds remaining, but Blacksburg scored the final four points to win. Salem was hit with a technical foul with three seconds left for calling a timeout when it had none remaining.
Mark Byington had a game-high 21 points for Salem and Tra Wilson finished with 11. - Staff report
