GREER, VIRGINIA M.Mrs. Mary Virginia McCauley Greer, age 70, died Saturday evening, January 11, 1992, in Smyth County Community Hospital. Surviving are her husband, Richard L. Greer, Marion; a daughter, Katherine G. Patton, Marion; a son, Stuart R. Greer, El Toro, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Dorothy McCauley Butler, Salem; Mrs. Margaret McCauley Sumrell, Rocky Mount; Mrs. Elizabeth McCauley Hiler, Topeka, Kansas; two brothers, James P. McCauley, Mount Ulla, N.C.; John William McCauley, Salem. Mrs. Greer attended Roanoke College. She was lifelong active in her church organization. Mrs. Greer was a member of the Marion Art League and an artist who painted the disappearing scene in Western Virginia, still-life, wildlife, and portraits. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 14, 1992, at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. J.N. Howard officiating. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the American Cancer Society. A committal service will be Tuesday, January 14, 1992, at 3:15 p.m. at St. Joseph Columbarium Grotto, the Parish of the Holy Communion, Holy Trinity Episcopal Chapel, Glendale Springs, N.C. with the Rev.
