JOHNSON, ELIZABETH K. Elizabeth Key Johnson, 89, of Route 2, died Monday,
January 13, 1992 in a Bedford Nursing Home. She was born in Bedford County
December 12, 1902 a daughter of the late William Granville "Shep" Key and
Nannie Virginia Eubank. She was preceded in death by her husband James Alfred
Johnson. She was a member of Peaks Presbyterian Church. She is survived by one
son, J. William "Bill" Johnson, Bedford; one daughter, Mrs. Clifton F.
(Virginia) Hawkins, Lynchburg; one brother, Samuel Key, Roanoke; five
grandchildren (two granddaughters and three grandsons); one stepgrandchild;
five great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren. Funeral services will
be conducted at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, January 13, 1992
at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Francis B. Avery and Rev. James Thompson
officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive
friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. In lieu of
flowers donations may be made to the Peaks Presbyterian Church. Carder-Tharp
Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
