JMU GETS PATRIOTS' REYNOLDS
Tuan Reynolds, an All-Timesland and All-Northwestern Region defensive back from Patrick Henry High School, has made an oral commitment to play football for James Madison University.Reynolds, who is 6 feet 1 and 175 pounds, led the Patriots in tackles for the second year in a row despite missing three games with a dislocated shoulder. He had 96 tackles, two interceptions and four caused fumbles.
Reynolds canceled a visit to Marshall. He also had been talking with Liberty, North Carolina A&T and Wake Forest.
Virginia received two commitments, one from fullback Darryl Medley from Group AAA Division 6 state champion Halifax. Medley was rated one of the top 25 prospects in Virginia by the Roanoke Times & World-News and is the third from that group to commit to UVa.
The Cavaliers' other commitment was from Sam McKiver, a 5-foot-9, 170-pound running back and defensive back from Andrews High in High Point, N.C. McKiver, brother of UVa defensive back Greg Jeffries, rushed for more than 1,500 yards as Andrews finished 13-2 and won the state championship in Class 3-A.
McKiver, who is expected to play in the secondary, canceled a visit to Duke. Medley (6-2, 225) visited South Carolina but will not make scheduled trips to Virginia Tech and Duke. Assistant Danny Wilmer recruited them for UVa, which has eight oral commitments.
