HILDA HARRIS has joined New River Community College's business-management staff to temporarily replacing FRANCES EDEMOBI, who is on a one-year leave of absence in Nigeria.Harris, who lives in Radford, brings 15 years of college teaching experience to the job and also works as a private consultant teaching such skills as listening, writing and speech.
\ TOM WILKINSON, New River Community College's director of learning resources and instructional technology, has been appointed to a three-year term on the Community Advisory Board of Blue Ridge Public Television, which advises the board of directors on programming, policy and community needs.
Eighteen local students have completed the Geriatric Nursing Assistant Program.
They are: from Pulaski, KAREN BARGER, LYNDA DAVIS, MARTHA HARRISON, AYLEE LUI, BRANDY MOREHEAD, PAUL MOREHEAD and DONNA PATRICK; from Christiansburg, JEAN FOGG and MICHELLE STUDEBAKER; from Dublin, EVELYN COAKE, LORIE HALL, SHERRY HARRELL and LESLIE HARISON; from Blacksburg, RENA LINKOUS and NANCY SNIDER; from Radford, BARBARA DEBOE, DEANNA ROY and LISA TICKLE.
