HARDY, LOIS L.

Miss Lois Love hardy, age 99, of Roanoke, died Monday, January 13, 1992 in a Bedford Rest Home. She was the daughter of the late Dabney Poindexter Hardy and Annie Belle Crisman. She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. She graduated from Roanoke Memorial Hospital School of Professional Nursing in 1913 and in 1988 she was honored as the oldest living graduate of Roanoke Memorial Hospital School of Professional Nursing. She later graduated from Ohio Dental College and served as a dental hygienist in the office of Dr. Grady Gregory. Miss Hardy was a member of Roanoke Asher Business Women's Bible Council. She was also a alumni member of Roanoke Memorial School of Professional and a Roanoke County Women's Club. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and honored at its 100th hundred anniversary in 1991 as the oldest member. She was also a member of the Builders Class and the United Methodist Women. Surviving are 16 nieces and nephews; and a number of great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel 12:00 noon Thursday, January 16, 1992 with the Rev. David Tanner and the Rev. Pat Tony officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Bedford at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, January 16, 1992. The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the Tinity United Methodist Church, 305 Mountain Ave., S.W. Roanoke, Va. 24016 or Salem United Methodist Church, Bedford, Va. 24523. The family will receive friends at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Wednesday.
