MADISON COUPLE FOUND SHOT TO DEATH IN HOME

A sheriff's deputy who went to the home of a Madison County woman to question her about an abandoned car found the bodies of the woman and her husband.

Mary and James Sprinkel, both in their mid-30s, had been shot to death, County Sheriff Bob Russell said Tuesday.

Mary Sprinkel's car had been found abandoned on Virginia 708. Russell said his deputy went to the home Monday morning and found the bodies. - Associated Press
