FIRE BURNS BUILDING FOR MEDICAL SUPPLIES
A two-alarm fire damaged about a fifth of the Medical Home Care Products and Services building on Franklin Road Tuesday night.A malfunction in an electric baseboard heater left on in a room containing oxygen being generated to fill tanks apparently started the fire, said District Fire Chief Pat Taylor. Firefighters were hampered by heavy smoke and numerous doors in the rear of the building, which made finding the fire difficult. The building contained no sprinkler system.
No one was injured in the blaze. Taylor said authorities would not know the full extent of the damage until today.
