NEW ORLEANS JAZZ BAND TO PLAY AT INTERMONT

Preservation Hall Jazz Band, New Orleans musicians who have performed all over the world doing the music they created decades ago, will perform at Virginia Intermont College Jan. 30 at 8 p.m.

The musicians, ranging in age from their 60s to their 80s, got their name from the hall in New Orleans where musicians got together originally to play for their own pleasure.

Tickets are $10 for general admission and $6 for students and senior citizens. The concert will be in Harrison-Jones Memorial Hall as part of the college's Celebrity Series. Further information is available by calling 669-6101, extension 210. - Southwest bureau
