NORTHSIDE FALLS 65-62 TO CAVALIERS

Ben Sumner hit two free throws with 36 seconds left to ice Carroll County's 65-62 upset of Northside in a boys' high school basketball game Wednesday.

After Stockner's free throws put the Cavaliers up by three, Northside had two chances to tie, but two 3-point attempts fell short.

The non-district loss dropped the Vikings, the No. 6 ranked team in the latest Group AA state poll, to 9-2. Carroll County improved to 7-4. Northside's Matt Hill scored a game-high 35 points. Sumner led Carroll with 19 points. Staff report
